Installing IBO Player and loading your Zonexify line

IBO Player is the only application Zonexify supports, and deliberately so: one well-maintained player that runs on nearly every platform, including the closed-source smart televisions that most IPTV apps never reach.

Before you begin. Have your Zonexify credentials to hand — the line we sent you on WhatsApp after activation — plus a broadband connection of at least 15 Mbps for Full HD or 25 Mbps for 4K. Each subscription authorises one device. If you have not ordered yet, start with the €7.99 intro month.

Why IBO Player

IBO Player is built by the IBODEV team and published for Android, Windows 10 and later, macOS, Debian and Ubuntu, plus the native content stores on Samsung and LG televisions. That last point is the important one. Non-Android smart TVs run closed operating systems that force developers to strip features out, which is why most IPTV players simply never appear on them. IBO Player did the work, so a Samsung or LG owner gets a first-class app rather than a workaround.

Two honest limitations worth knowing up front: the player has no recording function, and it has no multi-screen mode. Neither affects a standard Zonexify subscription, which authorises a single device in any case. The application also carries a small one-off licence fee after its initial evaluation window — a few euro for a year, or roughly double that for a permanent licence, paid directly to IBODEV by card or cryptocurrency.

Installing the player on your device

Android boxes, phones and tablets

  1. Open the browser on your device and download the IBO Player installation file from the developer's official site.
  2. Android will warn you that the file came from outside the Play Store. This is expected for a sideloaded package — choose Download anyway.
  3. Open the downloaded file and select Install.
  4. Launch the app. An introductory screen explains the activation flow; press OK to dismiss it.
  5. The dashboard loads and the player is ready to be registered.

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Download the Windows installer. Note that the build is 64-bit and requires Windows 10 or newer.
  2. Windows SmartScreen will interrupt because the file did not come from the Microsoft Store. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Step through the installer, ticking the desktop shortcut option if you want one, and confirm with Install.
  4. Click Finish to open the player.

Amazon Fire TV stick

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open the magnifier search field.
  2. Search for the Downloader utility, which allows applications to be installed from outside Amazon's own store, and install it.
  3. In Fire TV settings, open My Fire TV › Developer options and allow installation from unknown sources for Downloader.
  4. Open Downloader, enter the IBO Player download address, and let the file download.
  5. Select Install when prompted, then Open.

macOS, Debian and Ubuntu

  1. Download the build matching your operating system from the developer's download page.
  2. On macOS, open the disk image and drag the application into your Applications folder. If Gatekeeper blocks the first launch, right-click the app and choose Open.
  3. On Debian or Ubuntu, install the supplied package with your usual package tool and launch it from the applications menu.

Samsung and LG smart televisions

  1. Open your television's own app store — Samsung Apps on Tizen, or the LG Content Store on webOS.
  2. Search for IBO Player and install it directly. No sideloading and no USB stick required.
  3. Launch the app from your TV's home row.

Reading your MAC address and device key

IBO Player uses remote activation: instead of typing credentials into the television with a remote control, you add them once on the developer's web portal and the player collects them over the air. To sign in to that portal you need two identifiers from the app itself.

  1. Open IBO Player on your streaming device.
  2. From the main dashboard, select the person icon.
  3. The Device Info panel in the top-left corner displays your MAC address and device key.
  4. Write both down exactly as shown — they are case-sensitive.

Signing in to the playlist portal

  1. On a phone or computer, open the IBO Player website and choose Manage Playlist from the top menu.
  2. Enter the MAC address and device key you noted a moment ago.
  3. Select Login. You are now inside the playlist management area for that specific device.

Adding your Zonexify line

There are two ways to enter a subscription, and the one you use depends on the format of the credentials we sent you. Either is fine — the end result is identical.

Option A — a single playlist URL

If your Zonexify details arrived as one long web address, this is the quicker route.

  1. Click Add Playlist.
  2. Playlist name: anything you like — "Zonexify" keeps it obvious.
  3. Playlist URL: paste the address exactly as supplied, with no trailing spaces.
  4. XMLTV EPG URL: leave this empty. The player will pull the 14-day guide straight from the line. Only fill it in if you deliberately want a third-party guide source.
  5. Protect this playlist: tick it to set a PIN, which is worth doing on a shared family television.
  6. Click Save.

Option B — Xtream Codes details

If we sent you a host, a username and a password as three separate values, use this method instead.

  1. From the portal dashboard, click Add XC Playlist.
  2. Host: the server address from your activation message.
  3. Username and password: exactly as supplied, respecting capitalisation.
  4. Name the playlist and click Save.

Reloading the player and first launch

  1. Return to your streaming device and close IBO Player completely.
  2. Reopen it. The portal pushes your line to the app within a few seconds.
  3. Live TV, Movies, Series and Catch Up tiles now populate with the full Zonexify grid.
  4. Open Live TV and select any channel to confirm playback.

Tidying up the Live TV layout

Out of the box, the Live TV screen uses a layout that crowds channel names under the preview window and squashes the programme guide. It looks broken, but it is only a preset, and it takes ten seconds to fix.

  1. From the player dashboard, select the screen icon beside the Wi-Fi indicator.
  2. You are now in Live Screen Style. The default preset is the cramped one.
  3. Switch to the alternative style and press Save.
  4. Channel names now have room to breathe, the preview window sits correctly, and the guide lines up. Categories are hidden by default — press the left arrow on your remote, or the back gesture on a touch device, to bring them back.
